Light or Heavy

Your Body Knows

By now, you know what clues your body elements are telling you. But you question

  • How will I really know the perfect spot for lines between my waist and hips?
  • What color combinations will really pop the color of my skin, hair and eyes?
  • Will I really be able to determine the right print scale for me?

You will be surprised to hear this answer. Your body knows. Do you feel lighter or heavier?

Your Body Knows

The other day I was helping a new client. We were having our first One-On-One Consultation where we go over her Body Shape and Face Shape body elements. I noticed that her “girls” were pointing downward which gave her zero space between them and her waist. So before we got started I tightened her bra band by moving it to the last clasp and adjusted the straps which lifted up the “girls.” By making these two simple adjustments, her whole body changed. She stood straighter. Her face lit up. She looked more confident. She said she felt lighter. Her body knew giving her “girls” more support was better for her.

A couple of months ago while working at my day job (Macy’s), I was helping a 16-year-old girl pick out her first suit for an FBI class she was attending. (She is thinking about becoming an FBI agent.) She and her mom looked at more fashion forward suits but they weren’t having any luck. I asked if I could help them find a suit and they agreed. I gave them several classically tailored suits that I thought would fit her and would be appropriate for the class. Right away she found the right suit. When she put it on her whole demur changed. She walked, moved, and talked differently. She tapped into her confidence and personal power. Her body knew the suit was right for her.

It’s just like when you know an outfit works for you and when it doesn’t work for you.

Do I Feel Lighter Or Heavier?

Light or Heavy

Your body knows so listen to it by asking yourself, “Do I feel lighter or heavier?”

When doing the exercises for each body element, ascertain whether you feel lighter or heavier, for example, when you determine the placement of horizontal lines. When you experiment with horizontal lines, which placement makes you feel lighter? The one that makes you feel the lightest is the right placement.

When you have finished all the exercises and have found an outfit that matches all your body element clues, do you feel light or heavy? If you feel, light then you nailed it. However, if something feels heavy, you still have work to do. You know your work is done when you feel light.

All Parts Of Your Life

I use this method in all parts of my life and not just in the clothes I wear. When I have a decision I need to make, I go internal and look at the way I feel. Do I feel light when thinking about the decision or do I feel heavy?

When I start feeling heavy I look at all the elements around me to determine what’s making me feel that way. If it is something I can let go of, then I do it right away, but if it’s something I need to work on, then I work on it. If there is someone in my life making me feel heavy and I can’t let go of them (for example someone at work) I limit my time around that person whenever possible.

Use this technique in every part of your life and see where it takes you. I bet you will be glad.

Were you surprised by the results when determining what clothes and accessories you feel lighter in? Tell us about it in the comments below.
