Shopping For Bras -- Veronica's Favorite

Shopping For Bras — Veronica

When Monica suggested that their friend group go shopping for bras, Veronica was excited. It had been several years since she bought bras and several years before that she had been professionally fitted. Shopping for bras isn’t a chore for her; but, it does take time and patience to find one that fits well. She’s noticing that the older she gets, the larger she’s getting. She started out wearing a B cup and after she had her son, Veronica became a C cup. The last time she was professionally measured, she was a D cup. It’ll be interesting to learn what size bra she should wear.

Keep reading to learn what size and type of bra works best for Veronica.

Shopping For Bras -- Measurement

The bra specialist wrapped her measuring tape around Veronica’s rib cage just under her breasts and measured it to be 30 inches. Then the specialist wrapped around the bust area and measured 35 inches.

The specialist said these measurements translate into a 34DD bra size.

Shopping for Bras -- Breast Shape

The bra specialist had Veronica try on the Wacoal Retro Chic bra to determine which type of bra works best for her. The specialist noticed that the bra cup fit well but at the top of the cup, Veronica’s breast didn’t fill out the cup. This is a clue that her breast shape is shallow top/full bottom. The retro chic bra is a full coverage bra and shallow top/full bottom breast shapes typically don’t fully fill this type of bra.

Shopping For Bras -- Type Of Bra

The bra specialist said that lower cut bras would work best for Veronica. Because her cup size is DD, the specialist wouldn’t recommend a balconette or pushup bra because of the extra padding. But a sling bra would work best because the sling would give her support at the bottom.

T-Shirt Bra

The first set of bras the specialist brought into Veronica’s fitting room were t-shirt bras. All of these bras had sling technology giving her support with a little less coverage. She needs less coverage because her breast tissue wouldn’t fill out a full coverage bra. The specialist said these bras are perfect for her breast shape.

Plunge Bra

The last bra the special brought in was a plunge bra. This bra is great for outfits with a lower neckline. This bra has a seam in the cup which gives Veronica the support she needs. As a bonus, it’s made with lace and has matching panties for those times when she wants to feel extra feminine.

Final Thoughts

When shopping for bras, Veronica will always look for ones with the sling technology. It’s amazing how it supports her to a whole new level. Also that extra support translates into how she feels about herself. Now she understands why the bra specialist is passionate about making sure every woman is fitted with the perfect bra; because when the girls feel supported the women feel supported.

Sam, Alice, Grace and Veronica are grateful to Monica for insisting that they all go out and get fitted for the perfect bras. Many were not sure about the process; but, they turned into true believers, which led them to wearing the right bras. In the future, they won’t take their bras for granted.

While on the beaches in Hawaii, Veronica and her friends Sam, Monica, Alice and Grace talked about the fact they don’t get together like they used to before their lives got busy. So they decided once a quarter they will get together and do something outside their normal routine. Some of the ideas they came up with are: going to art gallery shows, museums and wine tasting to name a few.

Then, they thought “we’ve nothing to wear” because their closets were full of either work clothes or clothes for errands and kids sporting events. There’s nothing in between. Veronica had read they’re starting a new campaign called “Own Your Style” and thought this could be a great time to explore their own styles. They all loved this idea. In the next blog post you will read about Sam’s journey to discover her style called Shopping To Own My Style — Sam.
